Boris-the strip

And here's a look at a panel from the soon to be published- on line- adventures of good old Boris the Bear. As of this writing, I've gotten 24 strips completely finished and ready to be posted. But, sorry, you'll have to wait just a tad bit longer until that happens as I want to have a - do I dare say it- a bear minimum of at least 50 ready to go before I begin to post them. The reason is that I'll be posting- at first- twice a week. Then later I hope to move it up to, perhaps, three times or four, depending on my schedule, because, remember, I've still got the regular Boris book to get to work on as well as some other books that you can read about in my other postings. So my plate is pretty full at the moment.

I'll begin posting these first strips at the begining of January and we'll see where it goes from there, okay!?

Sir Walter Dragonslayer

Okay, here we have a new character that goes by the name of Sir Walter-Dragonslayer. And he is as his name implys, a slayer of Dragons. I've been working on this guy for about 8 years now, but have only just recently begun doing anything story-wise with him. Mostly because I've always been more focused on Boris and just never really got around to this guy and his stories until just recently. The artwork on the left is to a eight-pager that is completely finished. And I'm very happy with the result. And I've already gotten a good start on the layouts to another story that I hope to have finished by the end of this year.

But when will it be published, you ask? Hmm...good question. All I can really tell you right now is that it will come out as quickly as I can get it to that point. Hopefully not too long after the first of the year. But we'll see.

Anyway, hope you like this first look at this new character because there is definitely more to come soon.

Spidey art

Here is a look at a two-pager I did just for fun and also as an art sample of my work. It's a two-pager that has a very young Peter Parker, who has just had a run in with the Lizard, tending to his various wounds just as the boy without fear- Daredevil happens to swing by.

More stuff coming soon...

The artwork to your left is for a new character named NIKKI. Nikki is a mermaid and shares her adventures with BERNARD, the great white shark and his pal WILEY, the little blue shark. I already have a six-pager completed, where she teams up with Wiley to rescue a mutual friend from a deadly trap. And this art is to an eight page story, where she teams up with Bernard to stop some fishermen from killing sharks just for their 'fins'.

I haven't decided as to how I'm going to print these yet. I may do them as back-up features in upcoming issues of Bernard. Or wait until I've enough stories to put them all in one book. Either way, you'll be seeing more of Nikki coming very soon.

And Nikki's not the only thing I've got going. I'll also be introducing to you another new character that I've been having a lot of fun with who goes by the name of SIR WALTER-DRAGONSLAYER! A eight page story is already completed and am laying out the start of another story. But I'll talk more on that later. Which means you'll just have to check back more often now, doesn't it?!

What's new with the Bear...

Okay, so what IS new with the old Bear? Well, aside from the comic strip that I mentioned in the column below, there are two new books that can be found on the oasis comics website- click the link to go there to take a look...and order a few copies if'n ya like. I know I'd like that ( Hint! Hint! ).

The cover to your left is to a book titled BORIS THE BEAR " PISSED'. A one-shot special that I'm shooting for a summer '09 release. It deals with a letter Boris receives that really, well...pisses him off. And, as you know, Boris doesn't take too kindly to any slights he feels are leveled against him and, so, sets out to set things right. With the usual results. Oh boy...

Welcome to the offical OASIS COMICS blogspot. Here you will find just about anything and everything BORIS THE BEAR related, as well as other characters and books soon to come. Here you will find the latest news and updates on the old bear. Plus, links to the oasis comics store, where you'll be able to find and buy- if you so desire- the latest comics, original art, and other goodies that I've got planned for Boris and his friends. There will also be links to other sites that Boris and I think might be of interest to you. I'll also be posting any comic show dates where I'll be attending, just in case you get a chance to swing by for a how-do-ya-do. And last but not least...

Drum roll, please!

Beginning right after the first of the year, I'll be posting a weekly comic strip featuring a rather trouble-making little bear that goes by the name of Boris in his very own comic strip, no less. The title of the strip will be- Boris the bear, the strip. Kind of catchy, huh?! ( I've already got a head start on this project with 30 strips already pencilled. And have begun to script them as well. I'm shooting for 50 or better completed and ready to post by the end of this year and, so far, I think I'm right on schedule with it. As soon as they are ready to go, I'll get started posting them for you. )

As this is just getting going, I'll probably be updating this blog every other week or so. But that can change if any new news or information comes my way. So check back when you get a moment, okay!?
